BladesOur windmill features a large 72″ Diameter fan Wheel. The twelve blades are fully tapered and get wider at the outer tips as well as change pitch. This allows the blade assembly to start turning at low wind speeds and also develop high power in strong winds.
Windmill HubThe welded steel hub is completely assembled. The blades can easily be attached to the hub. The hub is securely attached to the shaft with 2 set screws tightened down to flat spots on the shaft. A bolt and washer in the end of the shaft prevent the fan wheel from ever coming off.
Over speed protectionThe tail design keeps the windmill facing directly into the wind until wind speeds reach 30 mph. At that time, the tail forces the fan wheel to turn 12 to 15 degrees away from the direct wind so that it cannot over speed. And it all happens automatically.
TowersThe tower design is very similar to the old style water pump windmills. It is made of galvanized steel angles and “x” bracing. It has 4 legs. This means it covers more square feet of area than a tower with 3 legs and also has 4 anchor stakes instead of only 3. This all adds up to more stability.

Crankshaft & Bearings
The crankshaft is made of high strength 1045 TGP Steel. Bearings are permanently grease sealed and are designed for heavy load capacity.

At the bottom of each tower leg is a 6-bolt anchor stake clamp. The anchor stakes slide down through clamps as you drive them into the ground. This is a good anchoring system and also allows you to level your tower as you tighten the clamps. Other anchoring systems can be used at your discretion.

The diaphragm is reinforced neoprene die cut for accuracy and longevity. The piston and diaphragm assembly is 60% larger than others, and with the added power of a 72″ blade assembly, will pump 60% more air into your water. All intake air is filtered through a re-cleanable filter.
The optional Freeze Control unit is designed to monitor pressure in the airline. On cold days with high humidity it is possible to get line blockage due to the moisture freezing within the line. When this occurs the Freeze Control will automatically release an alcohol agent into the line to thaw it. The Freeze Control unit allows for aeration in the winter and also keeps excessive pressure from building up in the compressor, possibly causing damage to bearings, etc.
The air compressor, blade assembly, and tail assembly are properly balanced over the top of the tower. This allows the head assembly to easily find the direction of the wind.
The compressor is a direct drive diaphragm pump with 1/2″ stroke. It is made up of a precision machined diaphragm push plate, and two valve retainers. There are no welds to break or warping of steel due to welding.
All intake air is filtered through a reusable filter.
Dual head diffusers handle air flow from 1.6 to 6 CFM. The hollow base can easily be filled with gravel.
Very low maintenance is required. This complete windmill was designed with ease of assembly and low maintenance in mind.
